Event recap: “Decades of expertise meet AI”

Artificial intelligence is changing the way we think, make decisions and work. But success does not come from algorithms alone. It depends on people who understand them and use them responsibly. Our specialist event, “Decades of expertise meet AI”, held on March 12 and 13, 2026 in Deggendorf, focused on this balance between experience, leadership and technology. The event also marked the 10th anniversary of dab: data driven services GmbH.

The event began on Thursday, March 12, 2026 with an SAP workshop that provided a practical introduction to analysing SAP data, including illustrative examples and plenty of time for questions. The workshop was designed to help participants navigate and use SAP with confidence, enabling them to identify and assess audit-relevant data more effectively.

On Friday, March 13, 2026, attendees gained valuable insights into collaboration between people and machines: Entrepreneur, author and Olympic champion Prof. Dr. Michael Groß delivered a keynote entitled “Leadership with AI: Managing collaboration between people and machines”. He explored what successful leadership looks like in the age of AI and the conditions companies need to create to support it.

In his presentation, “The human upgrade: How AI and professional development can shape the future together”, Prof. Dr. Philipp Liedl, Head of the Steinbeis Consulting Center for Technological Transformation, examined the importance of professional development and employee expertise as key success factors when working with AI.

In their presentation, “From calculating machines to AI: Data analytics between experience and innovation”, Günter Müller, CEO of dab: data driven services, and Moritz Lang, Head of Data Science at dab, provided insights into the evolution of data analytics and AI. They also demonstrated how experience and artificial intelligence can work together effectively to turn knowledge into tangible value.

The event concluded with a panel discussion featuring all speakers. They explored key questions about the future of data, AI and human decision-making, while creating space for discussion, reflection and fresh perspectives.
